Housing Assistance

Working with families to prevent homelessness and stabilize housing. Housing navigation is available to help secure affordable housing and, if eligible, to provide assistance for security deposits, rental assistance or rental arrearage.

VCAP Reach

  • CVOEO has a Street Outreach Team and is operating a Community Resource Center which serves as a daytime shelter
  • There are 7 homeless shelters, 2 emergency shelters and 2 extreme cold weather shelters
  • 1,206 home repairs were provided by Community Action Agencies
  • 808 individuals experiencing homeless worked with Community Action Agencies to find permanent housing

VCAP Annual Impact

  • 158 Vermonters experiencing homelessness were provided emergency housing
  • 1,951 Vermonters obtained safe, affordable and permanent housing
  • 865 received security deposits
  • 1,887 received rental assistance
